Dr. Elizabeth Samson-Parr has been part of the Risco Eye Care team since 2016, where she provides compassionate, comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages. With a strong foundation in both science and patient-centered care, Dr. Samson-Parr is dedicated to helping her patients achieve and maintain clear, healthy vision.

She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry in Pomona, California, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Her clinical training spanned a wide range of specialties—from pediatric eye care to laser vision correction—giving her a well-rounded approach to patient care. Over the years, she has practiced in diverse settings, including private offices, retail optical centers, and large vision care networks, which has deepened her understanding of each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Samson-Parr’s passion for optometry began during college after experiencing her own eye exam. The combination of science, technology, and direct patient care immediately resonated with her, sparking a lifelong dedication to the field. She finds great fulfillment in helping patients see clearly and improving their quality of life—whether it’s a child seeing the classroom board for the first time or an adult rediscovering the joy of crisp, clear vision.

Professionally, Dr. Samson-Parr takes a special interest in preventive eye care and patient education, believing that informed patients make the best decisions for their long-term vision health. She was honored with the San Joaquin Optometric Society Award in recognition of her commitment to clinical excellence and patient service. She continues to stay active in continuing education to ensure her patients receive the highest standard of care.

Outside of work, Dr. Samson-Parr enjoys spending time with her husband and their four daughters. Family is at the heart of her life, and she treasures creating lasting memories together. She also has a passion for real estate, home decorating, and event planning—creative outlets that reflect her eye for detail and love of design.
