Dr. Kim Phuong Nguyen-Bui has been an Optometrist at Dr. Diana Risco & Associates since 2009, serving patients at the Garden Grove Costco location. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Riverside, and went on to graduate from the Southern California College of Optometry in 2006.

Her passion for optometry began in 6th grade when her teacher introduced the class to the science of the eye. Later, after receiving her first pair of glasses in 9th grade, her fascination grew into a lifelong interest in vision and eye care. Today, Dr. Nguyen-Bui finds great fulfillment in helping her patients see clearly and overcome visual challenges that impact learning and daily life.

She knew she had chosen the right profession when she realized how much she genuinely enjoys coming to work each day—meeting new people, reconnecting with returning patients, and playing a role in their vision care journeys. Her professional interests include retinal disease and vision therapy, and she continues to expand her knowledge in these areas to better serve her patients.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Nguyen-Bui enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. Whether it’s a simple get-together, a game of pickleball, or traveling to new places, she treasures the moments that bring joy and connection to her life.
